Janelle Jones is a Registered Nurse, who enjoys traveling around the world to share her passion for nursing and healthy lifestyles. Most recently, she has traveled to Guatemala, Abu Dhabi and Sweden, educating women about reproductive health and promoting breast cancer awareness. She has experience in many areas of nursing, including: Oncology, ICU, ER, Psychiatry and Labor & Delivery. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Johns Hopkins University and is currently studying at Yale University, to become a Nurse Practitioner.
I am so excited and blessed with all that has happened in my life since I choose to do a second career in nursing. I would like to thank you and the YMF, Inc. for believing in me and my endeavors to make the world a better place, through nursing!

“I always maintained a job but no job was fulfilling; I felt I was not doing what I was created to do.” After being laid off from a job, which she held for many years, Tamika was blessed to discover her true passion. Tamika entered the medical field as a medical assistant and shortly thereafter realized it was her desire to become a registered nurse. Tamika attends The College of New Jersey and will be enrolled as a senior nursing student in the fall. She credits her children as her motivation to pursue her dreams. Tamika plans to use her knowledge to educate women before, during and after motherhood begins.”

As a single mother, I face many struggles and I usually feel alone in my endeavors. When I received the YMF Inc. scholarship my first year of nursing school, I had tears of thankfulness because it has had such a profound effect on me. Connecting with the Yvonne McCalla foundation gave me a feeling of support and that in turn increased my confidence in my decision to pursue a nursing degree. I was so encouraged knowing others believed in me, especially at a time when I was not always sure I believed in myself.
